Events Calendar in ADDA: Helping Residents Stay Updated on Community Events

by Ramit Kaur

In every active residential community, there is always something happening.

It could be a wellness session, a sports tournament, a children’s activity, a residents’ workshop, a festive gathering, or a community movie night.

For residents, these events make community living more engaging. For Owners Association Management Company (OAM) teams, they play a key role in building a connected, active, and participative community experience.

In fact, while many responsibilities of OAM companies—such as accounting, asset management, and help desk operations—happen in the background, resident engagement is one of the most visible aspects of their work. Well-planned events help residents feel involved, satisfied, and positive about their community, making engagement a crucial part of effective community management.

However, even when events are planned well, many residents still miss them.

Why? Because event updates are often shared across multiple touchpoints, such as emails, lobby notices, building announcements, or separate communication channels. With residents managing work, family, and daily routines, important updates can easily get overlooked.

In a modern UAE residential community, event communication needs to be clear, centralised, and easy to access.

That is where the ADDA Events Calendar helps.

Every community event, big or small, appears right inside the ADDA App, giving residents one reliable place to discover, track, and plan upcoming events.

Here’s What the Events Section Already Offers

The ADDA App already offers a dedicated Events section, where all upcoming events are neatly displayed as event cards.

Residents can view community events like workshops, celebrations, sports tournaments, wellness sessions, and more, all in one place.

This ensures everyone stays informed about what is happening in the community without relying on scattered updates, lobby notices, or separate communication channels.

The Events section has been the central hub for discovering community events in the ADDA App.

However, as residential communities become more active, residents often need a more structured and planning-friendly way to explore events.

They may want to check what is happening on a specific day, this week, or this month. They may also want to quickly scan weekends, view multiple events together, or plan ahead.

To support this growing need for clarity and better planning, ADDA is introducing a powerful enhancement to the Events Module: Events Calendar View.

Introducing the New Events Calendar Feature

This new calendar feature helps residents explore events day-wise and month-wise, making it easier than ever to:

  • Check what is happening on a particular date
  • Track multiple events scheduled for the same day
  • Browse weekends quickly and plan accordingly
  • Plan weeks or months in advance

How the Events Feature Works Together With Other ADDA Features

The Events Calendar does not work alone. It becomes even more useful when combined with other ADDA features that complete the community experience.

Albums:
After an event, residents or OAM team members can upload photos to Albums, keeping a visual record of everything happening in the community.
These albums also help new residents see the vibrant culture and activities that define the community.

Community Forms:
OAM teams can use Community Forms to handle registrations for events like sports tournaments, workshops, or competitions.

For example, if your community is hosting a badminton tournament with an AED 20 participation fee, which may include a T-shirt, shuttlecocks, and other arrangements, the event team can create a simple form inside ADDA to:

  • Understand how many residents want to participate
  • Collect the participation fee directly through the app
  • Confirm entries without manual tracking or external tools

Polls:
OAM teams can also use Polls to understand what events would really interest residents.

Whether it is choosing the next community workshop, selecting a movie for movie night, or deciding which sports tournament to host, Polls make it easy for everyone to share their preferences in just one tap.

This helps OAM teams plan events that residents actually look forward to.
